HSCI 405 - Applied Health Data Methods This course provides students an opportunity to complete an applied project using population health data sets. Students will be introduced to different types of quantitative health data, with a focus on secondary datasets, and provided the opportunity for hands-on learning. Data analysis and interpretation is central in providing underlying evidence for health decisions, guidelines, policy formulation and intervention action. Concepts that will be covered include dataset creation and entry, programming skills, and effective written and presentation of health data.
Prerequisites & Notes PreReq: Undergraduate Statistics Course (MATH 110 Introductory Statistics , PSYC 204 Biostatistics or PSYC 205 Statistics for the Behavioral Sciences ), Undergraduate Research Methods Course (HSCI 335 Health Research Methods , PUBH 330 Public Health Research , PSYC 242 Research Methods in Psychology , or NURS 330 Research Methods )
