HIST 603 - The Constitution in Context This course addresses the evolution of the US Constitution in its historical context. Begins with the drafting and ratification of the Constitution and the doctrine of judicial review; chronicles the development of major constitutional principles in the nineteen and early twentieth centuries. Constitutional decisions dealing with civil rights and the First Amendment guarantees are discussed in depth.
