EDUC 526 - Literacy, Literature and Writing This course explores the interaction between reading, writing, listening, and speaking with an emphasis on the relationship between reading and writing development from early childhood through elementary years. Students examine process writing, theme-based instruction, integrated instruction, content and informational literacy, and student-centered writing assessments. Literature for children in early childhood and elementary settings will be used to build background knowledge, and to support and enrich the curriculum. 25 hours of tier III field experience are required.
