EDUC 406 - Family and Community Leadership Students will develop awareness of the complex characteristics of the ways in which children’s families and communities affect growth, development, and learning. Students examine the role of teacher as leader in conflict resolution, collaboration, mentorship, problem solving, advocacy, confidentiality, and adherence to professional codes of conduct. Emphasis is placed on decision making in complex professional and ethical situations that require integration of knowledge from a variety of sources. Program evaluation, continuous quality improvement, and management of time, space, and people are reviewed.
