MA 110 - Introductory Statistics This course provides an introduction to the basic techniques of statistical analysis for students who need a working knowledge of procedures for evaluating statistical data. Applications to business, health sciences, and nursing research will be emphasized. Topics include visual displays of data, sampling, normal distribution, the central limit theorem, parameter estimation, hypothesis testing, correlation and linear regression. Use of technology, such as a spreadsheet or statistical software, will be introduced. This course does not fulfill the general education mathematics requirement. This course is intended for students with no background in statistics.
Prerequisites & Notes MA 100 or its equivalent.
