MA 420 - Abstract Algebra

This course is an introduction to abstract algebraic structures including groups, rings, division rings, and fields. The main focus is on the theory of groups: Abelian and non-Abelian groups; cyclic groups, groups of permutations, dihedral groups, and groups of isometric transformations of the plane. Axiomatic approach to building mathematical theory is emphasized.
