Students desiring certification as English secondary school teachers must fulfill the requirements of the English major. In addition to satisfying all of the competencies of the English major, students completing this course of study will have developed skills and competencies listed in the New Hampshire Department of Education Standards.

Focus Area Courses (15 credits)
Writing Focus (6 credits)
Literature Focus (9 credits)
ENG 300–400 Three literature electives. One must be a world or minority literature course.
