CS 385 - Object-Oriented Programming using Java This course provides a working practical knowledge of the Java programming language. Starting from a basic knowledge of Java, students will learn how to write programs using both regular applications and applets. Topics covered will include object-oriented concepts, including abstraction, inheritance and polymorphism; the use of packages and the scoping of variables in Java; inner classes; event-driven programming; and the Java class library, including Graphical User Interface (GUI) programming using JFC/Swing. This is not a course for novice programmers; some basic knowledge of programming is expected.
