ED 871 - Single Subject Design This course is designed to provide participants with skills needed to evaluate, plan, and conduct research using single-subject methodology, with an emphasis on its application within the social sciences. Topics include the history of single-subject design, relevant concepts and terms; experimental questions’ identification and definition of appropriate independent and dependent variables; recording and analyzing data; withdrawal, reversal, multiple-baseline, alternating treatment, changing criterion, and other designs. Issues of ethics and social validity will also be discussed.
