The reading and writing specialization offers a focus in literacy learning across the curriculum with an emphasis on diverse populations. The core program provides educators with a foundation in the process of writing, diversity and multiculturalism in literacy acquisition, instruction and assessment, curriculum design, and instructional technology. 


  • Prior teacher certification (Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or Secondary Education)
  • Two years of classroom teaching experience
  •   or its equivalent

Degree Requirements (36 credits)

Internship/Seminar (6 credits)
