Professional Track Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (Day)

The Division of Nursing offers a professional track Bachelor of Science Degree program for recent high school graduates. Students take science and core courses in the first year and begin the nursing sequence in the sophomore year. Upon completing their third year, students are awarded an Associate of Science Degree, sit for the national NCLEX-RN examination for RN licensure, and complete the Bachelor of Science degree in the fourth year. Students are required to pass the NCLEX-RN examination prior to enrolling in the Professional Nursing Capstone course in their senior year.
Nursing education includes extensive hands-on experience in the clinical area. Clinical nursing courses may include two clinical days or evenings, two weekend days, or one 12-hour day in addition to two theory classes each week. Students may be assigned to clinical agencies within a 50-mile radius of the College. |
General Education Requirements (57 credits)
In fulfillment of the general education degree requirements, the following courses must be taken. Humanities
- ARTS100 one elective in art and/or music appreciation
- ENG 200 one Literature elective
- PHI 200 One Philosophy elective
- Junior Year Seminar:one course
Natural Sciences and Mathematics
Students who do not achieve the required score on the College’s math placement examination are required to take MA 112. Major Requirements (66 credits)
*NSG 201 is offered in the summer semester only and is not included in full-time tuition. Students should discuss options with Financial Aid Office. General Electives
Students choose additional courses to reach the total number of credits required
