Master of Education in Educational Studies with Concentration in Counseling and School Psychology

This program is designed for individuals who hold a Bachelor’s degree in education or a closely related field who want to learn to use counseling skills to enhance their current professional responsibilities as well as those who want to pursue further study in the Ed.S. Program in School Psychology or the Psy.D. in Counseling and School Psychology Program. The program provides students with an opportunity to pursue coursework at the master’s level without additional internship requirements of the school counseling or mental health counseling programs. Students completing this program do not meet the criteria for certification as a school guidance counselor by the New Hampshire State Department of Education or for licensure as a mental health counselor by the New Hampshire Board of Mental Health Practice.

  • 50 hours of pre-practicum in mental health counseling, school counseling or school psychology
  • Candidacy review which includes disposition review
  • E-Portfolio review for candidacy and graduation
  • Successful completion of comprehensive examination
