The University reserves the right to change any of the charges, when, in the judgment of the administration, it becomes necessary to do so. All payments or payment arrangements must be made before the opening of class. No transcript of credits is issued until the student’s account has been paid in full. No place is guaranteed in class until full payment is received or payment arrangements are made.

Refunds

Students must notify the Office of the Registrar to withdraw from a course. Students may contact the Office of the Registrar by telephone, e-mail or fax. Due to the multiple start times within each semester, please contact the Business Office, 603-897-8220 or busoffice@rivier.edu for refund information. The refund policy is also listed on our website under Business Office. Students are responsible for the entire charge up to the date they withdraw from the course.

See semester course listing for actual dates.

Deferred Payment Plans

Two deferred payment plans are available to assist students in meeting their financial obligations. A non-refundable fee of $25 each semester is charged for participation in either plan.

  • The Employer Reimbursement Plan (ERP) is designed for students being reimbursed by their employer after completion of the course. Under this plan the majority of tuition and fees will be deferred until 30 days after the semester. In order to participate in the plan, students must: 1) show they are eligible to be reimbursed, and 2) make a $100 payment on account, each semester.
  • The General Payment Plan (GPP) is available for all other students. Using this plan, students may elect to pay their tuition and fee charges in three equal payments.
The student is ultimately responsible for all charges under both of the deferred payment plans, regardless of successful completion of the course(s). The Business Office may deny participation in either plan if the student has an unpaid balance from a prior semester or based on the student’s prior payment history. Further information about the plans can be obtained from the University’s Business Office.

The University accepts MasterCard, VISA, and Discover for tuition and other related payments.

Finance Charge

A finance charge of 1.5 percent per month will be assessed on late payments. This is equivalent to an annual percentage rate of 18 percent. Minimum service charge is $3 per month.
